Winter Weather Prep

Posted Date: 01/05/2022

Hello!  It's the time of year when Mother Nature keeps us guessing.  In preparation for a possible round of winter weather, I want to remind you that notification regarding any school closures will be sent using Lumen so it is very important that current email addresses and phone numbers have been provided to the district.  If you have a change in either your email address or phone number please contact the building secretary at your student's school.  In addition to Lumen notifications, we will use the Spokane Owls Facebook page and the local media to make notification of any cancellations, delays, or the use of snow routes.

If school is canceled, we will use our AMI plan and exhaust the 36 possible hours of alternative instruction or 5 days of virtual/alternative lessons before shifting to makeup days which will fall on Mondays.  So if tomorrow brings winter weather that would result in school being canceled, your student will be engaged in Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) assignments.  Teachers will be engaging with students throughout the day, and for students to be counted as present on an AMI day all work must be completed and turned in.

We thank you in advance for helping us prepare for weather changes and any resulting changes to student learning!
